Joachim Lacrosse est musicien et professeur de philosophie (ULB, ERG). Un beau jour, en octobre 1999, après avoir longtemps pratiqué la guitare classique (avec Monique Vigneron) et jazz (avec son oncle Pierre Van Dormael), il tombe amoureux d'un sitar. Il suit alors une formation auprès de plusieurs maîtres, notamment Raj Bhan Singh (Varanasi, dans le nord de l'Inde), puis Rama et Sadhana Rao (Bangalore, dans le sud).
Il a développé un style pour ainsi dire « nomade », qui se caractérise par des allers et retours entre l'orient et l'occident. Son jeu se singularise ainsi par la rencontre entre des techniques propres au sitar (meends, gamaks), et d'autres, plus guitaristiques (accords, vibrato). Ses compositions originales pour le projet SITARDUST, qu'il fonde en 2012, fusionnent des ingrédients issus de la musique indienne, hindustani (du nord) et carnatique (du sud), avec des couleurs folks, classique et jazz.
Il joue également avec le groupe LYLAC, ainsi que dans des projets impliquant une dimension narrative (Ainsi parlait Kabîr, les Kâma Sûtra). Il s'est produit à de nombreuses reprises en Belgique (Europalia Inde, Botanique, BSF, Centres Culturels, Francofolies, Ferme du Biéreau, L'Aquilone, L'An Vert, Jam'in Jette, Art Base, Cercle des Voyageurs, Muziekpublique, etc.), et également plusieurs fois en Inde, à Bombay et à Bangalore.
Carlo Strazzante est un percussionniste belgo-sicilien qui développe un intérêt pour les musiques traditionnelles orientales (indienne, arabe et persane). Il combine avec habilité et inspiration des techniques et instruments issus de diverses traditions : bendir, tabla, tambourin, cymbalettes, etc. En plus de SITARDUST, dont il est membre permanent, il accompagne de nombreux musiciens et groupes tels que Asad Qizilbash, Younes El Berdaoui ou la Fanfare du Belgistan.
BC Manjunath, qui vit à Bangalore, est un incoryable virtuose du mridangam (percussion du sud de l'Inde) et maîtrise à la perfection le konnakol (langage rythmique de la musique du sud). Il se produit non seulement avec de nombreux solistes de la musique carnatique (L. Subramanian, Mysore Manjunath, Ramamani, etc.) et hindustani (Ravi Shankar et sa fille Anushka), mais aussi avec des projets de world music et de jazz (Aka Moon, Bedham), ainsi que de musique et de danse contemporaines (Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Ballets confidentiels, Ictus, Raphaël Reina), avec lesquels il tourne dans le monde entier. Il joue dans des salles prestigieuses telles que le Bolshoi (Moscou), la Fenice (Venise) ou le Queen Elisabeth Hall (Londres) et a reçu en Inde de nombreuses récompenses. Sa collaboration avec Joachim Lacrosse commence en 2012 à Bangalore, à l'occasion d'un enregistrement pour le projet Bangalore for Beginners.
Renaud Crols est un violoniste tout terrain surdoué, réputé en Belgique. Il a obtenu le Premier prix de violon, de musique de chambre et de solfège du Conservatoire royal de Liège. Outre son amour pour la musique classique, Renaud est passionné de jazz (il est également pianiste) et des musiques world et folk. Il fait notamment partie des Violons de Bruxelles et joue régulièrement avec des musiciens comme Tcha Limberger, Roby Lakatos, Renaud Dardenne ou Biréli Lagrène, et même Pierre-Alain Volondat. Il a aussi été formé, plus récemment, au violon indien, hindustani et carnatique.
Raphaëlle Brochet est une chanteuse éblouissante, qui, née de parents musiciens, est baignée dans le jazz dès son enfance. Elle étudie dans plusieurs universités et conservatoires en France et à Montréal. Elle a été formée à la musique carnatique pendant plus de quinze ans par S.Thota et N.Govindarajan, a étudié également l'ethnomusicologie à la Wesleyan University (Connecticut), ainsi que la danse de Bali en Indonésie et le chant persan en Iran. Elle joue aussi avec des projets de jazz, dont un duo avec le contrebassiste Philippe Aerts. Elle a notamment vécu aux Etats-Unis et en Inde (Chennai), où elle enseigne actuellement le jazz (au One World College of Music de Delhi). Elle marie à la perfection le jazz, le chant indien et la musique persane, dans un mélange unique et harmonieux.

Catherine Graindorge, violoniste, altiste et comédienne, compose pour le théâtre, le cinéma, se produit seule en scène ou collabore avec des artistes tels que John Parish, Bertrand Cantat et Pascal Humbert, Hugo Race, Andrea Schroeder... Elle a sorti en 2012 un album solo, The Secret of Us All, et prépare pour 2017 un troisième album avec son groupe Nox. Elle est réputée pour l'utilisation minutieuse et envoûtante d'effets électro sur le violon acoustique.
Charlotte Danhier, violoncelliste de grand talent, est issue de la musique classique (qu'elle enseigne en Belgique francophone) et joue régulièrement avec de nombreux projets pop-rock (Agnès Obel, Clare Louise, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Kris Dane, etc.)
Frédéric Becker, saxophoniste soprano, ténor et alto, a été formé au Koningklijk Konservatorium (jazz afdeling) de Bruxelles par Bart Defoort, Jeroen Van Herzeele et John Ruocco. Sa palette d'instrumentiste polyvalent — saxophone alto, soprano et tenor, clarinette, flûte, bansuri — ainsi que ses multiples expériences de voyage font de lui un artiste singulier et ouvert. Il accompagne de très nombreux projets, dont Peas Project, World Squad, Afrikan Protokol ou TAB, et initie avec Jordi Grognard le projet afro-jazz Yokaï. Comme Grégoire Tirtiaux, il développe un projet solo.
Grégoire Tirtiaux est un saxophoniste alto et baryton connu des amateurs de jazz belges, et même bien au-delà du Royaume. Toujours à l'affût de sonorités inédites, à la fois modernes et imprégnées de traditions (arabes, ouest-africaines, tziganes ou indiennes, entre autres), il cherche à jouer une musique actuelle aux racines profondes et qui parlerait à l'âme. Il joue également de la guimbarde, du guembri, et il étudie le chant dhrupad (nord de l'Inde) avec Sayeeduddin Dagar, qu'il accueille régulièrement chez lui. Il fait partie depuis 2001 de la Fanfare du Belgistan, groupe qui a sillonné les routes d'Europe et collaboré avec différents artistes tels que Okay Temiz, les Ogres de Barback, Gangbe Brassband et Néry. Son coup de coeur pour la musique gnawa, originaire du Maroc, et son assiduité à l'apprendre grâce à sa rencontre en 2004 avec le mâalem Hassan el Gadiri, le poussent en 2011 à fonder le groupe Trance Mission qu'il mène avec brio aux côtés notamment de Laurent Blondiau, Jeroen Van Herzeele, Quentin Manfroy, Joao Lobo et Giovanni di Domenico. Il fait partie de nombreux projets, dont MikMâäk, Heptatomic, Al Manara et World Squad. Il joue avec de très nombreux musiciens de jazz belges (Michel Massot, Eric Thielemans, Jozef Dumoulin, Garrett List, Mélanie Di Biasio, Toine Thijs, etc.), et même avec Pierre Perret, Mathieu Chedid ou Manu Chao. Joachim Lacrosse is both musician and professor of philosophy. After a long time practicing classical and jazz guitar, he falls in love with a sitar, October 1999 in Varanasi, North India. He starts learning there under Raj Bhan Singh, then heads south to Bangalore, South India, and learns under Rama Rao, and later under his daughter Sadhana Rao.
His style can be called « nomadic », involving round trips from West to East and vice versa. His sitar playing makes Indian sitar techniques (meends or gamaks, etc.) meet Western guitar (chords vibrato, etc.). His original music composed for the project SITARDUST, that he founded in 2012, is mixing hindustani and carnatic elements with European jazz, classical and folk flavours
He is also collaborating with LYLAC, as well as leading and playing in other projects involving narration (Ainsi parlait Kabîr, les Kâma Sûtra). Carlo Strazzante is a Belgo-Sicilian percussionnist interested in traditional oriental music (Indian, Arabic and Persian). He is mixing with talent and inspiration techniques and instruments coming from several traditions : bendir, tabla, tambourine, finger cymbals, etc. He is a permanent member of SITARDUST and also plays with Asad Qizilbash, Younes El Berdaoui or the Fanfare du Belgistan.
BC Manjunath, who lives in Bangalore is an amazing master of mridangam (South Indian percussion) and probalby one of the few kings of konnakol (vocal rythmic linguage). He is performing with numerous carnatic (L. Subramanian, Mysore Manjunath, Ramamani, etc.) and hindustani (Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anushka) musicians, but also with world music and jazz projects (Aka Moon, Bedham), as well as contemporary classical music and dance companies (Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Ballets confidentiels, Ictus, Raphaël Reina). He is touring worldwide and went on stage at famous venues like the Bolshoi (Moscow), la Fenice (Venice) or the Queen Elisabeth Hall (London). He as been awarded many times in India. His collaboration with Joachim Lacrosse started in 2012 in Bangalore, with the recording of the piece The Auto-Rickshaw Score, for the project called Bangalore for Beginners.

Renaud Crols is an exceptionnaly gifted violin player, famous in Belgium. He has got the First Prize for violin and chamber music at Liège Royal Conservatory. Renaud loves classical music as well as jazz (he is also piano player) and world-folk music. He's a member of Les Violons de Bruxelles and performs frequently with musicians such as Tcha Limberger, Roby Lakatos, Renaud Dardenne or Biréli Lagrène, and even Pierre-Alain Volondat. He is also trained, more recently, in Indian violin, both hindustani and carnatic.

Raphaëlle Brochet is an astounding singer, which, born to musician parents, grew up in family surrounded by jazz. She has been studying at a number of universities and conservatories in France and Montreal. Her journey took her to South India where she learned carnatic singing and konnakol (rythmic linguage) from teachers, S.Thota and N.Govindarajan for more than 15 years thus forming her trademark blend of carnatic and jazz styles. In 2008 she got a full scholarship from Wesleyan University, Connecticut, to study ethnomusicology, where she pursued a Master in South Indian music. She has also studied Persian music in Iran, and Balinese dance in Indonesia. She is now teaching and coordinating the music programs at One World College of Music in Delhi, India, and tours her duo with Philippe Aerts across the globe, her unique musical style and versatility making her a force in the world of modern jazz.

Catherine Graindorge, violin and alto player, also actress, is composing music for theater, or works with artists such as John Parish, Bertrand Cantat and Pascal Humbert, Hugo Race, Andrea Schroeder... She has released a solo album in 2012, The Secret of Us All, and prepares for 2017 a third album with her band Nox. She is famous for using hypnotic electronic effects on her acoustic instrument.
Charlotte Danhier, cellist of great talent, comes from Classical Western music (she is teaching classes in Belgium) and tours very often with numerous porp-rock projects like Agnès Obel, Clare Louise, A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Kris Dane, etc.

Frédéric Becker is a soprano, tenor and alto saxophone player trained at Brussels' Koningklijk Konservatorium (jazz afdeling) by Bart Defoort, Jeroen Van Herzeele and John Ruocco. He is a versatile instrumentist — playing saxophone alto, soprano et tenor, clarinette, flûte, bansuri — and a globe traveler. His multiple experiences make him an original and open artist. He performs with projects such as Peas Project, World Squad, Afrikan Protokol or TAB, and creates with Jordi Grognard the afro-jazz project Yokaï. Just like Grégoire Tirtiaux, he is developing a solo project.

Grégoire Tirtiaux is a barytone and alto saxophone player, famous among Belgian jazz lovers, and even far beyond the Kingdom. Always looking for new sounds, both modern and with a strong traditional background (Arabic, West-African, Gipsy or Indian), he's trying to perform a music that speaks to the soul here and now from a deep place. He's also performing morsing, guembri, and learns dhrupad vocals with Sayeeduddin Dagar, that he invites frequently to his place. He is a member of the Fanfare du Belgistan since 2001, a band which has traveled all around Europe, and has worked with artists such as Okay Temiz, les Ogres de Barback, Gangbe Brassband and Néry.
His love for Moroccan gnawa music, and his diligence in learning it from 2004, under the maalem Hassan el Gadiri, lead him to create the band Trance Mission, featuring Laurent Blondiau, Jeroen Van Herzeele, Quentin Manfroy, Joao Lobo and Giovanni di Domenico. He is involved in many projects, including MikMâäk, Heptatomic, Al Manara and World Squad. Renaud Crols is een top violist, beroemd in België. Hij heeft de eerste prijs voor viool en kamermuziek van Conservatoire royal de Liège gekregen. Renaud houdt van klassieke muziek, maar ook wel van jazz (hij is ook jazzpianist), van wereldmuziek en van folk. Hij is een lid van Les Violons de Bruxelles en speelt met musici als Tcha Limberger, Roby Lakatos, Renaud Dardenne of Biréli Lagrène, en zelfs Pierre-Alain Volondat. Hij is ook recent opgeleid in de Indiaanse viool, hindustani en carnatic.

Raphaëlle Brochet is een buitengewoon zanger, die groeide op in een familie omringd door jazz. Zij heeft aan enkele universiteiten en conservatoria in Frankrijk en Montreal gestudeert. Haar reis bracht haar naar Zuid-India, waar ze leerde karnatische zang en konnakol (ritmische taal), voor meer dan 15 jaar, van S.Thota en N.Govindarajan. In 2008 kreeg ze een beurs van de Wesleyan Universiteit (Connecticut), om etnomusicologie en zuid-Indiaanse muziek te studeren. Ze heeft ook gestudeerd perzische muziek in Iran, en balinese dans in Indonesië. Catherine Graindorge, viool en alt-speler, ook actrice, componeert muziek voor theater en werkt met artiesten als John Parish, Bertrand Cantat en Pascal Humbert, Hugo Race, Andrea Schroeder... Ze heeft een solo album uitgebracht in 2012, The Secret Of Us All, en bereidt voor 2017 een derde album met haar band NOX. Ze staat bekend om het gebruik van hypnotische elektronische effecten op haar akoestisch instrument.

Frédéric Becker is een sopraan, tenor en altsaxofonist opgeleid aan het Brussel Koningklijk Konservatorium (jazz Afdeling) door Bart Defoort, Jeroen Van Herzeele en John Ruocco. Hij is een veelzijdig instrumentist – hij speelt alt, sopraan en tenor saxophone, clarinette, fluit, bansuri - en een grote reiziger. Zijn ervaringen maken hem een bijzonder en open artiest.
